Soho Open Back Dining Side Chair | Gray Chenille w/ Brown Wood

Every dining room deserves a seat that works as hard as it looks. The Soho Dining Chair is built for retailers and designers who need a piece that reads as considered, not filler — one that anchors a full dining set or works equally well as desk or accent seating. Rather than forcing a choice between comfort and structure, the Soho delivers both.

Its gray fabric seat feels considered against everyday use, while the brown wood frame brings the strength retailers can stand behind. The upholstery itself is OEKO-TEX certified, REACH compliant, formaldehyde-free, performance tested to 74,000 double rubs, built for the everyday performance retailers need to stand behind. Meanwhile, the tapered wood legs keep the silhouette visually balanced, and the armless profile lets it slide in and out with ease for effortless daily use.

Seat-to-Table Clearance: With roughly 11 inches between the seat and a standard 30 inch table, the Soho offers comfortable everyday legroom without oversized bulk Diner Guest Spacing: At about 22 inches wide, the Soho fits neatly within a standard 24 inch per-person table allowance, letting guests sit close without crowding elbows Mindful Materials: Gray fabric rests atop a brown wood frame, OEKO-TEX certified, REACH compliant, formaldehyde-free, performance tested to 74,000 double rubs Backrest Height and Style: A tripod backrest keeps sightlines open across the table while still offering supportive, upholstered comfort Armless Chair Benefits: Without arms, the Soho slides in and out with ease, making it a flexible choice for side seating and quick guest turnover Leggy Balance vs Heavy: Tapered wood legs keep the Soho visually light, preventing a full table setting from feeling heavy or overcrowded Upholstered vs Hard: Plush fabric across the seat and back supports long, relaxed dining, unlike wood or molded seating built purely for durability Cushioning Density: Generous padding across the seat and back makes the Soho comfortable enough to double as a desk chair or accent seat when needed Style Cohesiveness: The brown wood frame and gray upholstery pair naturally with wood or metal dining tables in modern to transitional interiors Shipping and Setup: Ships fully assembled in 1 box at approximately 24 pounds, a one-person setup ready to place in minutes The Soho arrives fully assembled in 1 box, so there is no hardware to sort or steps to follow before it is ready to place at the table. At approximately 24 pounds, it is manageable for one person to unpack, position, and set up in minutes. As with all Mercana pieces, it is backed by our standard manufacturer's warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.
